Sandra Zhong is the Founder & CEO of AscenZion Neuromodulation Co. Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based MedTech company pioneering non-invasive neuromodulation solutions for chronic brain disorders. Under her leadership, AscenZion achieved two global-first from the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) approvals for high-frequency Transcranial Pulsed Current Stimulation (tPCS): in 2022 for the treatment of spasticity in pediatric cerebral palsy and in 2025 for improving social functioning in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Since 2014, Sandra has also co-founded and led YIQI Biotechnology Group Ltd, a China-based medical enterprise specializing in neuromodulation and neuroengineering R&D. She has held multiple leadership roles at YIQI, including Director of Clinical Research, Chief Strategy Officer, Deputy CEO and currently serves as Executive Chair of the Board. She has spearheaded multi-center clinical trials on high-frequency tPCS and translated her research into the commercialization of 25 medical devices across China and Singapore, addressing neurological, neuropsychiatric, and metabolic disorders.
Sandra holds a Master’s degree in Applied Neuroscience (with Distinction) from King’s College London, an MBA from the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Before transitioning into neuroscience and MedTech, Sandra built a distinguished decade-long career in private banking, working in Switzerland, Singapore, and Hong Kong. She culminated her financial career as Senior Vice President at Deutsche Bank’s Ultra-High Net Worth team, where she managed portfolios exceeding €3 billion in assets under management (AUM).
Beyond her corporate roles, Sandra is the Founder of the Yirui Charitable Foundation that champions medical access to underpriviledged children with brain disorder, Vice President for Asia at the Eureka Institute of Translational Medicine, and a Founding Member & Executive Committee Member of the Neuromodulation Branch of the Chinese Neuroscience Society.
Leveraging her dual expertise in science and finance, Sandra is committed to advancing groundbreaking translational research in neuromodulation, with the mission of transforming the lives of patients with brain disorders worldwide.
